Commercially raised turkeys never see outdoors or grass, are raised by the millions in cramped quarters, and in the end, the carcass is often injected with butter or other liquid concoctions - this adds to the weight of the carcass, and you pay for it. Additionally your "fresh" turkey at the store can actually have been frozen up to 6 months, thawed, and sold as "fresh". Know your Farmer, Know your Food.
